We are now looking for a trainee or thesis worker for 4-6 months to develop and validate our cloud-based edge solution. The cloud-based edge solution is built on modern technologies like Linux, Kubernetes, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery, Container based SaaS platform, etc. Your work will focus on developing core edge (consisting of LTE/5G/Wi-Fi core network components), access points and their interaction. As a part of the work the environment is ideal to accelerate your professional experience and possibly to write a thesis work to get studies completed.
The position is available for immediate employment, but it can also be negotiated to start any time by June.
As a part of the team, you will be responsible of:
Setting up test environments in the lab (handheld devices, access points, network connectivity, cloud edge configuration, and related automation duties)
Support test design and validate software, hardware and firmware components of the cloud edge solution
Document test arrangements and test results
Contribute to SW testing documentation and automatization
Proactive interaction with colleagues
REQUIRED SKILLS
Your skills and experience
You have:
3-5 years of engineering studies in telecommunications, information technology, computer science or in a related discipline. You are possibly about to start final thesis work.
Hands-on IT skills inc. command-line interfaces, xterm, shell scripts, network monitoring tools, etc.
Practical operating skills of Linux environment
Knowledge of SW development lifecycle: design, implementation, integration, testing, troubleshooting
SW development skills (e.g. scripting languages, Go, Python)
Previous experience of modern environments and tools such as Kubernetes, Virtual Machines, CI/CD pipeline, etc.
Ability to carry out systematic validation tests in laboratory environment independently
Good English skills in speaking, reading, and writing
Proactiveness with hands-on get-it-done attitude
It would be nice if you also had:
Knowledge of modern environments and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipeline, Jenkins, etc.
Knowledge of wireless communication systems based on 802.11 / Wi-Fi technology
Knowledge of micro service development and implementation technologies such as REST, JSON, http/https/gRPC etc.
Knowledge and practical experience of Confluence, Jira, and Git source code version control system
