Description:

Citi’s US in-house creative agency is looking for a Design Lead to manage a dynamic team of designers in delivering a great user experience across multiple platforms.

This position requires an innovative approach toward customer journeys and an expertise in design fundamentals, with a focus on landing pages and digital ads.

The key characteristics for this position are:

Customer advocate – Approaching projects with the needs of the end user at front of mind, producing an effective and thoughtful experience

Research enthusiast – Demonstrating a passion for uncovering optimal user journeys through research and competitive analysis

Dedicated leader – Steering designers to implement a consistent and unified visual style in all creatives

Digital SME – Mentoring team members on web design, sharing industry best practices with designers and assisting with hands-on support when needed

Organizationally driven – Juggling several projects at the same time, able to track changes and client needs throughout the lifecycle of each job

Continuous learner / Influencer – Promoting continued education among the team to introduce fresh ideas

Innovative thinker – Taking creative concepts produced by the team and seeing the big picture — communicating our team’s involvement on important initiatives with senior leadership

Collaborative partner – Partnering with internal team members to drive creative thought to harness insights and develop solutions that are best for the customer and align to our client's mission

Brand strategist – Maintaining a keen eye and strategizing the most effective methods of implementing brand guidelines to ensure a consistent look and feel that promotes our client's core principles

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the creative team is to provide their partners with innovative and dynamic assets that adhere to brand guidelines, the client's central messaging and ADA compliance.

This Design Lead is specifically responsible for:

Leading a group of designers through art direction to produce a variety of deliverable types (landing pages, coded web ads, etc.) in keeping with our mission and values

Producing presentations for senior leadership — clearly explaining strategy and impact of our team’s involvement

Providing innovative, out of the box input when reviewing complex creatives

Tracking creatives throughout the lifecycle of the job (from concept through release)

Ensuring that comprehensive guidelines have been implemented into deliverables to ensure 100% ADA compliance

Conducting brainstorming sessions in a team setting to continually improve the user experience and performance results on deliverables

Collaborating with client partners to achieve strategic and innovative customer-facing assets

Reflecting core principles of curiosity and boldness in your approach to projects and demonstrating determination to achieve a successful conclusion

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in leading digital designers / providing art direction

Mastery of specialized software:

Adobe Creative Cloud: including XD and Dreamweaver

Figma

Adobe Experience Manager and Google Web Designer experience is a plus

A proven history of design fundamentals (including typography, color theory, brand adherence, and critical thinking with regards to creative application)

HTML5 proficiency (able to communicate effectively with digital designers and web developers)

Rich portfolio of work

Strong presentation skills and the ability to clearly and effectively discuss projects

Successful experience partnering with internal clients and senior leaders

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple job statuses (experience with workflow tools is a plus)

Ability to adhere to a process calendar

Ability to successfully communicate and collaborate with local and remote team members

A BA or higher in design or a related field

Mac literacy
